The final session of 2004. Adam met me at the Pot Springs Ditch around 1pm. I think this is the first really dry day that we have skated together for quite awhile. We skated for about an hour before heading over to the Arbutus ditch. This ditch is in pretty bad shape but there were more parking blocks there than the last time I skated it. I took a couple good pics of Adam here. I got two of him blasting some rad bonelesses and one of him grinding. I also took another overview shot of the ditch. After I got home I searched through my old Thrashers looking for pic of Arbutus, which I found in the Nov 88 issue. I remembered seeing it a couple years ago when I was going through some. The pic is from 1978 and there are some nice wooden extensions.

Matt wanted to hit Vans up one last time so we headed down there for the noon session. We were running a bit late and didn't end up getting there until 12:30. There was a huge line there and a ton of kids in the park. It would take us at least 30 min to get through the line and we didn't want to wait around for the 2pm session so we decided to hit up Arlington instead. There was a decent bowl session going on when we got there - about 4-5 people already skating it. I was unsure of how much I could skate with my bruised hip but it started feeling better the more I skated. If I sat down for a couple minutes it started tightening up again though.

A lot of people came to town to skate Vans one last time. I headed down to Arlington on a couple hours of sleep to meet up with some OBX guys. There was a decent session going on when I got there and a lot of people arrived shortly after I did. I took a few pics of the session but only got 1 good one - a pic of Jerry Hahn doing a rock n roll slide. I also took a pretty hard fall. It was one of those falls where I'm not even sure what happened. I was about to end my run and was up on the one of the deepend walls and then next thing I know I'm on the bottom and my hips hurts like hell.

We left Arlington around 3 and headed down to the pond for some fishing and then over to Vans for the 6pm session. There were a decent amount of folks already there and more and more showed up as the session went on. There were a ton of people around the bowl and it soon turned into a full on snake session. My hip still hurt like hell but I was able to get some decent runs in. There were about 5-6 cameras on the bowl and another couple on the vert ramp throughout the session. I ran out of batteries at the pond and was a little bummed I didn't get any shots at this session. I expect to see some footage of this session coming soon - possibly on eastcoastaholic.com. I skated for about 3 hours and then watched some of the vert skating going down. People were blasting some high airs, especially Peewee. My hip was now killing me just standing around so I decided to take off.

Today was a beautiful day. I called up some people to skate but everyone was busy. I decided I couldn't let this one sneak by without a session, especially since it is supposed to snow this weekend. I headed over to the ditch for a solo session. I decided to skate the Battail today for a little change. The mellow concave and thick rail let you slide a long way on this board, which is why I love skating it at the ditch. It also has soft wheels, which is a nice change every once in awhile.
12.16.04
The Moffer and I headed up to the ditch today. It was pretty nice out - definitely warmer than yesterday. I gave the ditch a good sweeping and cleaned out the channal as well. I took a couple attempts at going in but couldn't make it back out.
12.15.04
I sacrificed a lot of sleep to skate Vans and Arlington with some Newport News and NC anchors today. I got off work at 6am and got to sleep at 7. I woke up at 9 so I could make it down to Vans for the first session. I still a bit surprised I made it. They had just mopped out the bowl but it was still a tad slick today. A lot of Critical Thrash guys were able to make it out. Some from, south VA, some from NC, and some from PA (and me, from MD). I got a couple pics at Vans, actually Craig took these with my camera. The first is of shane throwing up a frontside. The second is me grabing on the coping in the deepend.

After the first session we headed up to Arlington. On the way there I took a wrong turn at 7 corners (the worst intersection you can imagine) and ended up going on 50 the wrong way. I look in my rear view and all the NC guys are following me. I get turned around and manage to get everyone to the park once I get my bearings. It didn't feel that cold when we left Vans but it was pretty cold when we started skating. I took a couple pics but my hand started to freeze so I had to go back to skating. Here's Jesse with an FSG, and Rob with one too. Scott was doing these awesome ollies off the volcano onto the spine. Then he started grabbing the tail. These two sessions were definitely worth losing a bit of sleep over.

12.12.04
I had planned to hit a bunch of ditches with some people on sat, but it rained all week and was still drizzling Saturday morning. On Sunday Seth was headed up my way so we stopped by the ditch to get in one of the sessions we missed the day before. There were about 6 kids there trying some flip tricks on the banks when we got there. I was pretty surprised, since I rarely see anyone else up there. I hadn't seen these kids before. Seth brought an old Hosoi and a 70s style Alva remake. I tried both out. The Hosoi was a mini so it was a bit small and there was no concave on it at all. The Alva was pretty fun, it had old Gullwings on it and some super wide, soft wheels. Seth pulled a couple grinds on it, which I didn't even think possible with the skinny trucks and huge wheels.
12.08.04
I headed down to Arlington today to get a session in between the showers. There was a decent showing today - a couple older guys and some younguns skating the bowl. I skated until 5, when the BMX session kicked in.
12.05.04
I put up some new pics on the pics page. I think they have all graced this journal at one time or another. I got an email from some local MD skaters who sent me a link to their site. I skated with them at Pot Springs recently. They have a video on their site taken that day, but after I left. Check out the sick backside grinds on the longboard.
12.04.04
I was hoping to skate with some friends today but wasn't able to meet up with them, or rather they weren't able to meet up with me. I ended up heading over to the ditch for another solo session. I took my regular board today (the five points). This one took no time getting used to. I had a nice relaxing session, which was good for my hangover. Not one of those headpounding hangovers, but one where you just feel a little out of it until sometime in the evening. Later on I went to a craftsfair in Baltimore with my ladyfriend. Everyone apparently left early so there were only people cleaning up when we arrived. We got to make our own buttons for free though, so I now have a one-of-a-kind hand drawn Baker Pools button.
12.03.04
Matt slept over my house last night and we headed over to the ditch for an early session before he went to work. I decided to take the Battail again to see how the new wheels felt. I was able to loosen the trucks up a little with the smaller wheel, which is always a good thing. The deck felt much better with the new wheels. I got some nice long railslides trying out a new line. The wide trucks still feel a bit weird at times.
12.02.04
I didn't do anything yesterday and was feeling kinda bad about it. I didn't really have anything to do today either but I managed to get myself outside and over to the ditch for a solo session. I grabbed my Deathbox Battail for today's session. I had taken a couple runs on the deck here before, but this is the first time I used it for a full session. It took me a few runs to get used to it again - its got large wheels (Bullet 66s) and the wider trucks feel a little different, not to mention the wider deck with less concave and a small nose. I started getting some nice long grinds and then worked on some lipslides. With the mellow concave and large rails the middle doesn't hit parking blocks so it slides much faster. I got a couple long, albeit sketchy, lipslides. After today's session I decided the wheels were just too big, and rather than putting on more risers I opted to put on some 60mm Abec 11 No Skoolz. These are 95a (same as the Bullets) so it should still be a pretty smooth ride. These seemed all the rage a couple years ago but I never got around to picking up a set. I took these off a Schmitt Stix Yard Stik that I got in a trade. I put some Schmitt Stix Sawblades on the Yard Stik, which seems more appropriate anyway.
11.29.04
I put up some new decks on the collection page. I got a full size Lance Mountain Future Primitive in the same color scheme that I had as a kid. I also put up a Zorlac Double Cut which I am quite stoked on. There is also a Zorlac John Gibson with sidecuts, a Skull Skates Hosoi, and a Rob Roskopp Face, which has an awesome gripjob.
11.27.04
I started feeling sick last night so I went to bed kinda early, well, early for me at least. I got up at around 7:30 and couldn't sleep. I was planning on hitting the noon session at Vans but figured I'd hit up the 10am one instead. I got some cold medicine and then hit the road. The session was pretty fun. I met some guys from the S&B forums and my friend Adam was there as well. I felt pretty good skating but when I got home I felt like shit. I pretty much stayed on the couch for the rest of the day. Adam took 2 pics of me - one crailgrind and one tuckknee grind.
11.26.04
I hit up the pot springs ditch with my bro on the way back from our parents' house after Thanksgiving. It was a great day and the ditch was looking good. We skated for a bit by ourselves and then people started showing up. There were about 7 people there at one point. As Matt and I were getting ready to split the neighbor came over and was saying something about spraypaint and the police. I'm not sure exactly what she was trying to convey but we ended up splitting anyway. My bro took a pic of me wallriding the bridge.
11.23.04
I hit up Arlington today before work. Once again it started sprinkling on my down, but was dry when I got there. I got in at about 5 of 3 (they start charging at 3) and didn't have to pay because of the crappy weather. It sprinkled on and off for an hour and then started drying up a bit. The bowl never got wet enough to be slick so it all worked out. I ended up getting a pretty relaxing session in.
11.20.04
I headed out to the Frederick park today. I was meeting Adam out there and had a bad feeling that the park would be closed. There was a little drizzle on the way out but not too bad. The road was pretty much dry so I hoped the park would be ok. I got to the park and it was mostly dry, but not open. Adam was already there to give me the bad news as I pulled up. I called the skatepark number and was told that they wouldn't open. Another guy we were meeting up there (Andrew) got there and called too, with the same reply. We had hoped that repeated calls would convince them to open. There was a mother there trying to drop the kids off who called up and yelled at them for a bit but still no good. We decided to cut our losses and check out the germantown ditch. This was thankfully dry. I took 2 overview shots. The ditch has been painted so it is a bit slicker but not bad at all. There is 1 parking block there and some roll-ins and pipes. We managed to salvage the day with a decent session.
11.17.04
My brother came down today and we headed over to the ditch for a session. He was skating a lot better then the last time we went to the ditch. I brought my camera and got some nice pics.

I hit up Arlington today before work. It was unseasonably warm today. Usually there are 1 or 2 older guys skating the bowl and a ton of kids on the street course, but today it was the opposite. There were some locals as well as some dudes from Boston who stopped by on their way back from Wanchese. It was nice to get a good session in before work but it was hard to leave.
11.13.04
It was a beautiful day today. I had planned to help Steve move some stuff but he ended up not requiring my services. I was nursing a hangover on the couch when I decided I shouldn't waste the entire day. I headed down to Arlington for the last bit of daylight. I knew before I even started skating that this would be one of those days where I wasn't going to skate all that well. I skated for a couple hours though and cruised a bit. Sometimes that's all you need.
11.11.04
Matt is back from tour and about to head to Cali but we managed to get a session in while he was home for 2 days. We headed up to the ditch and skated for quite a while. I was still feeling kinda stagnant and decided to try to frontside grind the extension (there is only a small part of the edge that you can actually grind, the rest is pretty much noping). I could get my truck on it but getting off proved to be a bit harder. I kept running out of room and hitting the parking block next to it. I eventually managed to get back in after hanging up slightly on the block.
11.10.04
I had planned to skate with the Matts today but they both bailed on me. I ended up hitting the ditch for a quick session before work. I feel like I've been kinda stagnant there recently so I started trying some backside disasters and managed to land a few.
11.06.04
I headed up to the Chaumparamp for the party today. This is the first time I had skated the ramp, and it is pretty damn sweet. There were some people really tearing it up, which was rad to watch. This was a fundraiser for the Green Skate Lab.
11.05.04
I headed down to Vans today for the 12-2 session. There weren't too many people there but a couple people took some runs in the bowl. It was super slick today. I had put on some old 95a Slimeballs to compensate for the bowl, and because I had flatspot. I ran into Craig there who told me there was a decent session going on at Arlington later that night.

I hit up Arlington for the evening session. The lights do a pretty good job there; there are no spots where the light is in your face and there is plenty enough light to skate. I saw a lot of people that I hadn't seen in quite a while and I met some new people. It was a bit cold but not bad. Definitely a great session. Rob from ECA even showed up. I heard through the grapevine that Vans Potomac is closing on Dec. 31, 2004. Although I skated it a lot and learned a lot there, I can't really say that I'm all that sad to see it go.

11.03.04
Matt came by today and we hit up the ditch. For the first time in quite awhile some other people showed up. Vogel also showed up and we had a decent session going on.
10.31.04
I took some pics of my Jack-O-Lantern - ##one##two##three##. I also took a better pic of the O'Brien Clowes deck and I put up a pic of my Madrid Danforth Reissue. Finally, here's a pic of my friend Adam's collection.
10.30.04
I had some plans to skate today but it was pretty wet when I got up. I decided to head over to my friend's house anyway and watch some skate vids if we couldn't skate. I got to Adam's house a little after 11 and it was pretty soaked there as well. We waited around for a bit, as I watched Spongebob Squarepants with Adam's daughter rather than skate vids. Adam showed me his newest model, and like a dumbass I didn't take any pics of it. As the roads outside started to dry up we headed out to some ditches in hopes they would do the same. Adam's neighbor Josh came along and we managed to get Tim out too. First stop: Whitemarsh. This ditch was soaked, but I got some pics of the terrain which I neglected to do last time. Next stop: Pot Springs. This ditch was pretty soaked as well, but not as bad as whitemarsh. Third times a charm: Cockeysville. This ditch was a little damp but skateable. The steep wall at this ditch is pretty much the only thing to hit. The concrete work on the wall are pretty sketchy. There is about a foot of vert on the wall, which is the backside of a curb for the parking lot next to it. There is also some standing water in the bottom, which is just waiting to swallow some boards. Last stop: Back to Pot Springs. It was slighty dryer than before. After a good sweeping it was skatable but still pretty wet. The hardest part was that your griptape got wet and it was hard to keep your feet on. We got a pretty decent session in and headed back.
Here are some pics of the adventure ##Tim is Pissed##Mountain of Salt##Tim is Saved##The Only Goddamn Skate Picture I Ended Up Getting## I took some pics of Adam at Cockeysville. He was getting high as hell but kept bailing when I had my camera out. He got some pics up me as well as all the terrain but then lost all his pics, which royally sucks.
10.27.04
I hit up Arlington before work today. My new Five Points deck felt nice, althouth I ended up flatspotting a wheel. I also brought the battail today. I forgot my skate key and the trucks on the battail were a bit tight, but it still felt great. The bullet 66's are fast and pulled some decent airs, even with the heavier deck.
10.25.04
I hit the ditch up today before work. I forgot how much of a difference rails make when doing lipslides on parking blocks. I am easily sliding twice as far now.

I put up 2 new decks on the collection page - an Alva Fred Smith Loud One and a Schmitt Stix Ripsaw 2. I also updated Steve's collection and moved some of his decks to the traded section.

10.24.04
I put up some new pics in the gripart section. I also put up a new deck in the collection, a Santa Cruz Corey O'Brien Comic Book deck. More to come soon, hopefully this week.
10.23.04
I set up my new Five Points Skates deck today. The shape is awesome. The sides are similar to the old Schmitt Stix Ripsaw. Here's a pic. I took this up to the local ditch along with my deathbox battail. This is the first time I skated the battail other than just cruising, and it felt pretty good. Skating a 10" deck is weird and takes a little getting used to. The nose is much smaller and the 215s turn a little differently. The deck is kinda flat and the rails clear the center of the board. I tried some lipslides and the board just shot out from under me. The five points felt much more natural. Its a little wider from what I've been skating but not too much (about 8.5). Its got some deep concave and a nice big nose. If you are interested in unusual shapes, definitely check out five points.
10.19.04
I found some old pics of the holy roller banks. Its a pretty neat spot that Matt and I hit up periodically for a change of pace. Here's a pic of me doing a disaster. This was around last halloween.
10.16.04
My old friend Adam came down to skate some new terrain today. We started out at the Riverdale Ditch. It took Adam a couple runs to get used to the walls, but then he started throwing up some sick backside smithgrinds. We skated for about 30-45 min and then it started to rain. I had gotten some directions to a ditch in Westminster so we headed up there, hoping that it wasn't raining up near Baltimore. The farther we drove, the more it rained. Just as we were nearing the ditch it stopped raining and the sun came out. I took some pics of the terrain. Adam grabbed his board and took some runs, even though the walls were damp and there was a small stream trickling down the center. Seeing him take a run made me want to. We skated until our grip tape was too wet to hold our feet on, which was really only about 7-8 runs. I can't wait to hit this ditch again when its dry. From here we went over to Lansdowne, which was dry by the time we got there, except for a few puddles here and there.

Check out Adam's deck collection. He's got a ton of Powell's from the error when we both started skating. He even has my first board, a black Lance Mountain Future Primative mini, and his first board, a red Mike McGill Skull and Snake.

10.15.04
Matt and I had a quick ditch session before he went to work today. I pulled out some tricks I haven't done in awhile, like the swashbuckler.
10.13.04
I hit Arlington Skatepark before work today. As I was leaving there was a slight drizzle for about 5 min, but it subsided and I hoped that it would stay dry. I didn't get any rain on the way down, but when I got to the park it had just finished raining. The park was just about dry so I took some pics. Here's an overview, and a shot of the deep sections and the shallow sections. I had a pretty good sesssion today, although it was cut a little short by some more rain.
10.11.04
I celebrated Columbus day with a solo session at the ditch.
10.10.04
I added a bunch of stencils to the stencil page is the art section. There are some old skate co logos and some portraits.
10.08.04
I hit up the ditch today by myself. Skating by yourself can be kinda fun sometimes, but usually its just not the same. Anywho, the ditch is looking quite nice. Its nicely swept and even the side near the pipes is completely dry and clean.
10.06.04
Matt and I picked up Matt's friend Brian and headed up to the Pepco Bowl. This ditch is pretty interesting. Its 4 small ditches all coming together in a basin. Its almost like a spider. You can drop in from one of the smaller ditches with a decent amount of speed and hit some walls. Matt was pulling some crazy early grabs to axle stalls on the steepest wall. I got one good action shot before my batteries died in my camera.

After skating the Pepco Bowl for a bit we headed over the Shady Grove ditch. It was getting dark but we still got a some runs in. We walked down to the end of the ditch. Matt had heard there was a hip down near the end. We found the end but no hip. There was a very slight bend which made an almost unnoticable hip. There were some parking blocks there but the bottom and one side was covered with overgrowth.

10.05.04
I skated the new Arlington park for the first time today. It was built by Wally Holliday and is pretty similar to his other parks I've skated except that the bowl is a bit deeper and has tile and pool coping on part of it. Unfortunately I forgot my camera so I don't have any pics. It's 1 big bowl with 4 sections, 2 have pool coping and tile, 2 have metal coping. The smaller 2 sections (with metal coping) are seperated by a spine. There is a lot of flat bottom here and the corners are a little weird. Both sections are about 5'. They both lead into the deeper sections. One is about 8' and the other about 10'. They both have great waterfalls leading into them and nice tile and federal stone pool coping. The deeper sections are very fun but they throw you out into the smaller sections. There is way too much flat between the deeper and shallower sections. I think if they had made this 2 seperate bowls, one all pool coping and steep trannies, and the other all metal and mellower trannies, it would have turned out much better. The shallow sections are also the only thing in the park that resemble a miniramp, so there are a lot of people just skating those sections. Overall, it is a pretty fun park. The 2 deep sections definitely make the trip worthwhile, but had they been a bowl unto themselves it would have made this a great park. But that is just my opinion, go see for yourself.
10.04.04
I put up some pics on the collection page of the Zorlac Shrunken Mask complete - set up with Zombus and Deadbolt Trucks. I also took some pics of my current quiver. And I put up some new pics in the griptape art section.

I also added a new article, Photo Ops, which features some of my favorite pics since I've been doing this site.

10.01.04
I went to Vans today. I haven't been to Vans in over a year and was looking forward to skating the bowl again. Unfortunately, I was the only one skating it, but it was still fun. The coping is in surprisingly good condition and the surface wasn't as slick as I remembered it. I'm riding some new wheels - Autobahn Enduro series 61 (101a inner core, 97a outer core) - which might be part of the reason the bowl felt better. This was my first session with the new wheels and they are feeling awesome.
09.29.04
I was going through some old emails today and found some pics that The Moffer had sent me that I never got around to putting up. The pics are of the pepco ditch, which I haven't gotten around to skating either. Anywho, here they are:
##pepco1##pepco2##pepco3##pepco4##

I also found some old scans of some "Damn It All" Phread drawings, some of which appeared on the Zorlac Damn It All decks.

09.26.04
I updated the collection page today. I got a couple of new decks including a Variflex Lucero and a Vision Gator. I also got some reissues including the first 4 Roskopp decks.
09.22.04
Matt and I headed up to the ditch today. All the rain we've had has really washed it out and it is looking pretty good. Someone has been laying concrete down by the the large black cylinder. Not sure what they are trying to do there, but I put some grind marks on it. It looks like they may be trying to extent the ditch up to the black part, but they haven't done much. I can't really imagine what else they would be doing, unless they just had some extra crete and threw it there.
09.15.04
My old friend Bill was in town from Portland for a week and we managed to find some time skate. Matt and Bill woke me up today before work (at 2:00pm) and we headed over to the ditch. Vogel met us there and we had a pretty good session going on. With all the crap I'm dealing with at work this was a good release. Nothing makes you feel better than grinding some coping.
09.09.04
I added a couple decks to the collection page. Most notable is a Skull Skates Johnny Ray Team Skül Batail. I also put up some Consipracy decks and some other newer decks that I picked up.
09.07.04
I redid the collection page today. All the decks are now under the owner, and then by company. I also added my Misfits deck and a Natas deck.
08.31.04
Man, its been awhile since the last update. Anywho, the moffer and I went up to the new Frederick park yesterday to check it out, but the bastards closed it down during day hours. Not to be deterred, we hopped the fence and got some runs in. The big bowl is pretty nice. I wish I had more time to relax and skate it, but we were on a hit and run mission. I managed to get some nice frontside grinds on the deep end. The smaller bowl is very mellow and I only took 2 runs in it. The rest of the park looked alright, but I didn't bother with it. This park is definitely worth a visit for the big bowl, just make sure you get there when its open.

Steve Shook sent me a picture of Lucero's first pro model (on variflex) and the accompanying ad (which features Jeff Grosso skating). This deck was pulled off the market almost immediately because of the questionable graphics. According to Steve, this is the only known one, except for the one in Lucero's personal collection.

I also have some pics of Lansdowne that I took a couple months back but never got around to putting them up. You can see the new paved area (over the rough asphalt). They did a surprising great job on that, but the coping is another story.

04.01.04-04.03.04
Steve and I headed down to Florida to hit up some parks. Our main stop was the Sarasota park. We took off after work on thrus (6:00 AM) and made it down around 9ish. We got something to eat and crashed. The next morning we hit the park first thing. The bowl there is pretty much an actual pool. Here's a pic off Steve's site of the bowl. The lowend trannies are super tight (about 1.5). Its basically a real pool except you don't have to hide from anyone and the trannies are even all around. It took me a little to find a good line but I found a nice one that got me up in the deepend tile frontside. I threw up some grinds as well. The coping sticks out a little more than most park pool coping but once you get on it is a very smooth grind. The rest of the park is pretty nice although it was swarming with kids. We left the park to take a swim in the gulf and then headed back for an evening session. On Saturday we planned to hit the Oviedo and Orlando parks but opted instead to hit this beauty instead. This pool didn't have a name so I have dubbed it the KBC Pool since that is what was written on the wall. Here's a shot I took of Steve hitting some tile over the light. After a healthy session in the midday sun we took off for home. On the way back we hit 100,000 miles in my car - right at everyone's favorite tourist trap.
03.25.04
I hit the ditch up today for a quick solo session. Its still in pretty good condition and mostly dry.
03.11.04
Matt and I headed up to the germantown ditch for an afternoon session. There was a lot more stuff there then the last time we hit it up (plywood rollins, parking blocks, pipes). It even looks like someone fixed some of the cracks with some quickcrete. We skated for a quite a bit and then headed home. We had just enough time to get a quick session in at riverdale.
03.05.04
Steve and I headed down to Wanchese today for a full day of skating. We hit a number of spots before ending up at the cheesebowl. The first two spots were backyard pools built to skate in the winter and swim in during the summer. Both were rad and grinded like butter.
##pool one deepend##pool one shallowend##pool two deepend##pool two shallowend##
After the pools we hit Jesse's quarterpipe. This thing was super steep. Jesse was the only person ripping it up. The rest of us were just trying to figure it out. From there we went a couple blocks down the street to the Grindline park at the Nags Head YMCA. Its built by Grindline so you know its well done. Its basically a long snake run that goes from about 4' to about 10' or 11'.There are so many lines in this thing that you don't know where to start, and you certainly don't know where you'll end up. Most of the strength left in my legs was taken away by this. For pics, check out eastcoastaholic. We left the Y about 2 hours before sundown and headed over to Wanchese. The bowl has had some modifications since the last time we were there. There is now a staircase, the backend that had started to sag is now set correctly, and the tile got a fresh coat of paint. My legs were about jelly by this point but I still had enough strength to get some good runs in. We skated until sundown, got some food, and headed for home.

Even though it rained a bit last night, Matt and I headed over to the ditch to see if it was skatable. The top half was mostly dry. After a quick sweep it was skatable. The bottom half had some standing water in the corner with a thick green film on top. We got a pretty good session in. I think we are both pretty out of shape from not skating much this winter. I was feeling it after a couple long runs. I was glad to get some skating in before heading down to NC.

Man, its been far too long without stepping on a board. The weather has been pretty shitty for the last couple months. For whatever reason I haven't wanted to hit up any indoor parks, and most of my usual outdoor spots have been soaked (ditches tend to collect water, its almost like they were designed for it). The local ditch is finally dry. I headed down there for a brief session. The ditch seems to have survived the winter pretty well, with only minimal cracking and chipping of the trannies. I need to bring a broom next time I hit it up. Next stop - Wanchese?!
